Miami Rum Festival quickly established itself as the world’s most influential gathering of rum experts, professionals and enthusiasts with a plethora of special events, competitions, seminars and luxury tastings. Miami is also host to the most prestigious blind tasting competition in the rum category — the RumXP International Tasting Competition.
International Trade Expo For Rum
The Miami Rum Festival is also home to the International Trade Exposition for Rum, a gathering of Rum producers, distillers, blenders, importers, distributors, retailers, marketers, consultants, packaging specialists and international trade press. This is a venue for many rum brands from around the world interested in presenting new products to the trade.
A standard exhibit space at Rum Renaissance festival costs less than 50¢ per rum enthusiast attendee.

The RumXP Competition
Rum products exhibited in the grand tasting event are entered into the RumXP International Tasting Competition. Prizes are awarded to the highest scoring products as judged in a blind competition by the most qualified group of rum judges in the world.
The value of this esteemed award to a brand and expression is considerable, with world-wide recognition and increased positive awareness.

A Short Miami Rum Fest History
2008 – A fund-raising benefit for the George Merrick Foundation featuring 54 exquisite rums and a delightful banquet dinner sold out immediately with 150 rum enthusiasts in attendance. The concept of a grand tasting event in Miami was born and legitimized.
2009 – The first Miami Rum Renaissance event was held at the Shore Club Beach Resort in May, 2009. More than 1,100 attendees sampled rums from 34 brands over the course of 7 hours, along with 5 VIP parties held throughout the week.
2010 – The 2010 Miami Rum Renaissance Festival was held at the Raleigh Hotel Beach Resort on Miami Beach. More than 1,900 rum enthusiasts from around the world enjoyed 49 brands of rum, with 7 outstanding VIP parties throughout the week.
2011 – The 2011 Rum Renaissance festival attracted more than 4,600 attendees over two days of grand tasting with 54 rum brands taking 12,000 square feet of space, in addition to 9 VIP parties during the seven day event.
2012 – The 2012 Miami Rum Renaissance Festival doubled in size again, featuring more than 20,000 square feet of exhibits, more than 75 rum brands on display and attendance exceeding 8,000 rum enthusiasts, professionals and experts from around the world.
2013 – The 2013 Miami Rum Fest started with a new venue featuring more than 80 exhibit spaces using 40,000 square feet of exhibit space, doubling the previous year’s size. With greatly expanded parking, new hotel rooms, a special VIP section, a larger stage, more food venues and many more rum exhibits, we welcomed 12,500 rum enthusiasts and professionals to attend.
2014 – Now exceeding 50,000 square feet of exhibit space with more than 120 exhibit spaces, two stages and four seminar rooms, the show continues to grow by attracting rum enthusiasts and rum brands from around the world. The Miami Rum Fest Trade Show attracts more producers looking to enter the U.S. market.
2015 – With a greater emphasis on the International Trade Expo For Rum, we delivered more specialty producers of rums, limited editions, vintage collections and award-winning products from afar to Miami. The result was the largest gathering of rum producers, experts, professionals and consumers in the world — all meeting in Miami to celebrate and discover all the best rums on earth.
2016 – The VIP Tasting Bar was the most lauded addition to this annual rum-themed event, featuring more than 40 top-shelf luxury rums, limited editions, and rare rums for serious connoisseurs and collectors to sample. The list of seminars, lectures and master classes was better than ever. An ever-upward, competent and affluent clientele enjoyed a growing selection of rums from around the world.
